What is AoE time?
AoE, or Anywhere on Earth, is the timezone UTC−12, 12 hours behind UTC with no daylight saving. It’s the last place on the planet where each date ends, which is why conferences, journals and grant programs set deadlines like “23:59 AoE”: if it’s still the deadline date anywhere, you’re on time. The clock at the top of this page shows the current AoE time, corrected against our server so it’s right even if your device clock isn’t.
